Dear Members,
I am writing to you today with a sense of immense pride and pleasure as we reach a significant milestone in our club's recovery and renewal.
Following the unfortunate workshop fire last January, the fortitude and steadfast patience shown by our membership have been nothing short of extraordinary. The period since the incident has posed unprecedented challenges for our Team, yet the spirit of New Quay Yacht Club has remained unshakeable.
On behalf of the entire Flag Officers and Committee, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your understanding, unwavering support, and loyalty throughout this period of transition.
It is now my great delight to share that our new Club Manager, Sarah Skinner, together with her splendid team, has worked tirelessly to bring us to the brink of a full bar service restoration.
They have put together an exciting schedule for the official reopening of the Club Bar:
Lunchtime Trial Run
Wednesday, 16th December
Testing our exciting new bar layout.
Soft Opening
Thursday, 17th December (Evening)
Welcoming members back for a relaxed evening service.
Grand Reopening Party
Friday, 18th December
Celebration of our refurbished Bar.
The trial run on Wednesday will allow Sarah and her team to fine-tune the new arrangements and test all associated equipment in a live environment. We welcome those able to pop in and assist us in putting the new systems through their paces.
Watch for updates on the Club’s WhatsApp groups, emails and Web Site.
Progress on Club Facilities
In addition to the wonderful news regarding the bar opening, I am pleased to report more positive discussions with Ceredigion County Council (CCC).
We have been told by CCC that their Approved Contractors are expected to be offered contracts very soon, to reinstate our essential toilet and shower room facilities.
CCC have committed to present the NQYC Team with a Schedule of Works within the next week.
This represents another vital step forward in bringing the clubhouse back to full operational capacity and we will keep you updated as these works progress.
This reopening represents an exciting new chapter for NQYC and I look forward to celebrating by sharing a drink with you over the festive season as we gather once again and enjoy everything New Quay Yacht Club has to offer.
Warmest personal regards,
Commodore
